Allison Peters is the Creative Coordinator/Copywriter at Mane Content, a division of 9&10 News, and she writes the weekly column Experiencing Northern Michigan for the 9&10 News website. Winner of an Academy of American Poets Prize, she earned an honors BA in English and creative writing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and has been awarded scholarships to the Bear River Writers’ Conference and artist residencies with the Grin City Collective and Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology. Her poetry has been published in The Collagist, Dunes Review, Hobart, Birdfeast, Mixed Fruit, and elsewhere. She blogs for the Michigan Quarterly Review, teaches writing and poetry classes at Northwestern Michigan College through College for Kids and the National Writers Series, and loves to volunteer in the local community. Allison is also a professional copyeditor, voiceover artist, actor, founder/publisher of Green House Press, and founder/editor of the literary journal Orange Quarterly. She lives in Cadillac, Michigan.
